What we do:

1. Provide Free Feminine Hygiene Products.

With our efforts and your support we proudly provide our menstrual hygiene kits on an ongoing and continual basis to shelters within King County, as well as facilities including underfunded schools, correctional facilities, and healthcare centers. Removing the element of scarcity and implementing support ensures dignity and maximal health.

“100% of homeless women have little to no access to feminine hygiene products.”

2. Support Women’s Needs within Legislation.

The Healing Hands Project has successfully eliminated the tampon tax within Washington State. This meaningful and effective measure will better allow women access to these basic human needs.

Dr. Fidino also has a sponsored bill to increase payer coverage for women who are high-risk for breast cancer. We are receiving great support are expect to see this much needed change come to fruition allowing for women to receive the care they truly need.

3. Menstruation Education.

We have found in our research over the last two years that having our program be co-created by the women of whom we serve allows for true ownership and ideal design. It is vastly important to us and our community that The Healing Hands Project be a voice for the women we serve. Within each of our kits a “V booklet” serves as a basic guide for feminine hygiene.
